Introducing a brand new, improved security camera from IMILAB. It is the successor to the popular EC2 model and bears the label IMILAB EC4. The novelty has 4 MPx, records in 2.5K resolution, also supports color night mode and you can also connect a solar panel to it.
2.5K video and many improvements over the older version
We have the previous model of the IMILAB EC2 battery-powered wireless camera we also tested in the newsroom. We still use the camera and we are satisfied with it, but it has several shortcomings. These include, in particular, delayed recording and weaker night video.
The novelty in the form of the IMILAB EC4 camera brings several improvements that should eliminate these problems. The camera has 4 MPx, aperture F1.6 and records in 2.5K resolution.
Color night mode and solar panel
The IMILAB EC4 camera also supports the color night mode it provides LED lighting in front. This is activated immediately when the camera detects motion at night, or you can turn it on manually. In addition to the standard black and white night video, you also have the opportunity to get a color video in complete darkness.
One of the best improvements is definitely solar panel supportwhich can be purchased separately. It can charge the camera, so you won't have to charge it from the mains. The solar panel has a metal frame, is mounted on the wall and is an optional accessory.
Notifications and application options
The IMILAB EC4 wireless camera notifies you as soon as it detects movement in its field of view. Works with the application IMILAB Homewhich will alert you to movement in front of the camera with standard notifications.
In the application, you can set the length of the video that the camera should record after motion detection. The maximum length of such a video is 60 seconds. You also know how to set the interval between individual alerts, the minimum value of which is 0, at which you will not miss any movement.
Videos can be uploaded to the cloud or a microSD memory card. The maximum supported capacity is 64 GB.
Bidirectional audio, detection zones and alarm
The camera has a speaker at the back and a microphone at the front, so there is no support for two-way audio transmission. Certification IP66 will take care of trouble-free operation even in bad weather.
Of interest is the support of the so-called detection zones. You can mark up to on the picture 4 zonesthat my camera monitors. If it detects movement in one of these zones, it will immediately notify you with a notification or even a loud alarm.
Assembly and connection
You don't have to worry about any complicated assembly. In the package you will find everything you need to be able to place the camera according to your own needs. There are also screws and dowels for the wall.
As this is a battery-powered wireless camera, the package also includes a gateway to which the camera connects via 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi. The gateway connects to your home network using an Ethernet cable with a router, and the camera then connects to the gateway. You can then connect more cameras to the gate, maximum 5.
